This year's birthday was very different from the rest.
I'm essentially on AIM 24/7, even if I'm not present.
I turned off my phone and logged off AIM.
I feel that our (American) culture puts a lot of pressure on enjoying birthdays and frankly, most (if not all) of mine have failed to live up to our expectations. So? Kill the expectations.
It's unreasonable for me to think that my friends and family will decide to worship me on this regular calendar day, yet that's exactly what I've been expecting for the past decade.
It was a good birthday. :)
